In 1989, after ten years Hatha Yoga instruction under the Director of Yoga Health Dynamics Centre (Wynnum),  I undertook a 12 month Yoga teacher diploma course of training and began teaching for the centre during this course of study. I continued teaching at suburban locations around Brisbane and at the University of Queensland.

In 1997 I broadened my yoga knowledge completing a remedial course certificate with Yoga for Health Foundation UK (now Yoga for Health Education Trust) whilst residing in the UK for 12 months and became their first representative in West Africa when I moved to live in Ghana for 18 months.

Over the years I have expanded my experience of teaching yoga, establishing my own classes and becoming involved with promoting yoga  and encouraging its healthy lifestyle throughout my places of work and within my local area and overseas.  I have gained experience working with high school students, staff and principals; special needs; asthmatics; senior citizens; cancer; M.S.; post polio syndrome; chronic fatigue; arthritis; cystic fibrosis; back care; stress release and a myriad of other health concerns.

Some of this yoga work has involved facilitating, writing and presenting many yoga workshops in my active role as a member and previous state representative of Yoga for Health Australia Inc. I continue my involvement with YFHA as a mentor to remedial  teacher students and writing articles for the newsletter.  I have also facilitated a number of yoga workshops for Fernwood Womens Fitness Centre, Carindale, Brisbane and presented a one hour talk on stress and yoga relaxation for Qld. Cancer Council Healthy Living seminar. I enjoy volunteering my time teaching yoga as a means of fundraising.  I have also made a commitment towards maintaining links with yoga teachers from many traditions by co-ordinating and facilitating the Bay/East Yoga Teachers Support group.
